I am calling from Yamakkalapuram. Nagajothi came to our school and told about TTCU radio. So i would like to register here. Today we conducted Education Ceremony in our school. Parents gave notebooks, pots and Other items. It went on well. We told the parents to be affectionate and take care of their education and their health. Many kids are coming to school in an empty stomach. Due to this their health is getting affected. Only 3 kids ut of 20 kids are healthy in a class. So boil the water before giving to drink. Parents should reduce the time of watching TV and take care of kids education.

Happy to know that they have a union for mill workers too. Happy to know that there is a union to know their problems. We are happy that you have started this union. I am Veni from Pungammal. Normally all the workers are conducting strikes. Can a women worker conduct strike? Is law allowing for that? I request TTCU to clear this doubt

As per labours, there is no discrimination as male or female. As per law, both are same. So there is no law which says that only men can conduct strike and women should not. In the history of mill workers, women were the first to conduct the strike. So when a company violates the law or when the company is stopping your part of the money for 50-60 worker, or when they trouble you, you can protest and the law permits it. This can be done by informing the company or by not informing them too. So both is allowed. So discuss and doing it with the help of union will be even more helpful.

ESI money will not be given back. Workers should clearly understand this. It is Medical insurance. The worker will get the compensation if he is meeting any accident and losing any part of his body or loses his life he will get compensation. More than compensation, there is a possibility of giving a monthly pension. If a worker has not met with an accident he will get a pension at the end of his service period. If you are meeting with an accident on the first day of your work you will get the compensation. ANd the compensation will be given as a monthly pension. Dont think that they will give a compensation of Rs. 2 lakh. They wont give you like that. If the case is on and it continues for 1 or 2 years at that time the arrear amount can be given in one time but after that every month you will be getting compensation amount ton monthly basis. And this will be given to your entire lifetime. Its a wonderful law. And everyone must have ESI account.
