My name is Mahalakshmi. I am from Kuttimeykanpatti, Madurai dist. I am Treasurer at Aditamilar democratic union. I am working for people. Even in schools and everywhere if a low caste girl is coming, they will stare at her by keeping some distance. They wont share food with us, they wont sit or talk to us. They feel disgusted to do all these. I have witnessed all these. When i was a kid i just left it like that. But as i grew up and finished my 10th I started thinking, what did I do? Everyone's blood is same, Then what caste has to do in it. I used to talk about this to my parents and ask why are you like this? Why are you not back answering them? They said this is village, we are only 10 to 15 families. Till we establish our roots we cannot talk here. After marriage my mother started talking bravely. Now i have grown up next my should grow. I have learnt so many things in training. Among them first i learnt is our people should grow. I joined welfare board and helped them in getting membership card and helped them in getting welfare fund. Not only that i told bonded people and manual scavengers to not to this work. I have participated in many protests. for example 4 unions joined together and protested in Thiruchangodu. I have also attended Chennai conference. Happy women's day to all.
I am Nagarathinam. In some of the mills they dont have weekly off. If they have enough of staffs they will give leave and send them home. If they dont have suffiecient man power they will ask them to do OT. For them work is important. They dont think that they need to give leave to mill workers. In the same way during night shift they will tell not to take leave during night shifts. They will work for the whole night. For half night shifts they will sen them by giving 2 day leave because many workers will come for half night shift work. They need to understand that they should give leave weekly once. Secondly they wont give leave when they need it most. Mill workers are forced to work in such situation because they need job.

1) TIUE members are protesting to take action on Railway workers union administrator who stopped Trichy Kottai officers from working in Mayiladudurai and for threatening him. 2) Pudukattai dist, Arandhangi Govt college has appointed temporary Professors and officers from the day one of its start. They are doing all the works for Periodic pay. In such situation College has appointed Annamalai University professors by ignoring all the previous staffs. Shocked staffs and professors are Protesting. 3) Tamil nadu Govt has passed order to Govt employees to wear ID card during working hours.
