So look, sir, the old guidelines for writers are coming to an end, as you may have heard. Actually, the old writer system had issues, and even if it ends, there will still be issues. The question arises from our old friends who used to arrange writers and get papers written for others — the question is, why is this becoming a problem now? Well, the problem is that one writer used to give exams for 10 people, and each of those 10 candidates would pay lakhs of rupees — ₹1.5 lakh, ₹2 lakh, even ₹3 lakh. Some candidates had money, and their behavior would become arrogant — ‘Oh, I had so-and-so write my exam’. Some didn’t even pay the writer, which created conflicts. And these writers didn’t care much for genuinely disabled people. They only cared about money. So yes, this had turned into a business. Secondly, as explained clearly by Rajesh Kumar Pathak Sir through an audio message, nowadays even perfectly capable people are managing to get disability certificates (specifically for visual impairment) just to take advantage of benefits and pensions. We heard a story on Radio Udaan, on a show called ‘Community Cl’, which we also listened to via Hamari Vaani and AARO. They reported about a woman who received benefits for 50 years using a fake disability certificate. At home, she would talk normally, but when she went to the Social Welfare Office or a government office, she would pretend to be mute or disabled. Now think, 50 years is no small period — it’s a lifetime. If someone takes such benefits from age 18 to 50, just think how much loss the government suffers. Those who truly need these benefits don’t get them, while those who don’t need them take undue advantage. They’re taking away what rightfully belongs to others. So, keeping all this in mind, the old systems are being removed and a fresh verification process is underway. Based on this, a new policy will be introduced — one that ensures that everyone receives only what they are entitled to. Otherwise, things go out of hand.
