Namaskar, I am Bithika calling from Baruipur. I studied at the Behala Calcutta Blind School. I was admitted to the blind school in 1991. I still use a keypad phone. My school life was very beautiful; it was a happy life. When blind children study in a hostel from a young age, that life is very sweet and wonderful. In their own homes, blind individuals often face various difficulties, but when studying at school, those problems aren't felt anymore. Everyone used to take care of us with a lot of personal attention. I loved my school life and spent very happy days there. I still remember those days. On December 1st, we have a reunion. We all gather together then and reminisce about those days during the festival. We all wait for that day every year to attend the celebration. Previously, because my home was far away, it was difficult to go, but as that day approached, my heart would grow restless. Now that I live closer to Kolkata, it is no longer difficult to go. I go with my husband now, so there is no trouble. If I were still at my old home, my mother has aged and might not have been able to take me. It feels very good now. I can go there every time. It feels wonderful. Namaskar."
