Vallimutthu: Even before I finish my call, the girl is missing. Where is that girl?? Lady: She was supposed to go to ration shop. You are saying a useful information. We cant eave it in between. So she has asked me to be here. VM: Very nice!! In TV Serials they say from now on this role will be played by this person. Now even you are also following the same. Very good!! okay lets go to the matter. Last episode we have asked 2 questions. Lady: Yes!! When did India got Freedom and after independence when Industrial act was passed. VM: Ok. So answer for 1st question is, India got freedom in the year 1947. Next year 1948 industrial act was passed. This act is very important. Lady: Bro, bro, afterword tell me why is this important. but before that i have a question. VM: What is that? Lady: All labour laws are implement just before or just after independence. VM: Yes!! Lady: so there was no labour laws before?? VM: It was there but everything was in favor of owners. Because all the company owners were foreigners. Since they were ruling the country, they passed laws in their favour. Lady: Oh!! So for the welfare of working class Indians the laws were passed!! VM: Yes You are right!! Lady: Bro, I have a doubt, In 2020 we workers are also workers right? VM: Yes yes!! Why is this doubt? Lady: Nothing, i heard that 44 laws which were in favour of labours has been shrinked to 4 laws. Why is that? VM: That is to increase foreign investments in India? So that India will be a developed country. Lady: Atleast Britishers passed orders in their favor when they were working here. But we are stamping labour laws so that foreigners should come and invest here. VM: Yes!! Lady: What is the danger because of this new labour laws?? VM: Wonderful question!! This is this week's question. Listeners please tell us any one danger because of it. You will get prize for this. No matter how many people record this. Without fail do register your answer.

VM: Hey where is the producer who was sitting here? Lady: Producer?? VM: Yes!! He said he will take a movie featuring me. Lady: Sir, he cant even take you to theater for a movie. VM: Why? Lady: Even for that he doesnt have money. VM: Is it?? How do you know that? Lady: Because he is my beloved husband, better half!!! For time pass he gives all such talks with people like you!! VM: Time pass!! Where is he now?? Lady: As soon as he saw me he escaped from this place. VM: Now why are you here?? Your husband is going to take a movie with me, now what you want to conduct exhibition with me? Lady: No sir. I will tell the reason for my visit later. but before that you explained about human trafficking. But whom are they kidnapping? VM: Kids, women, men, without any differentiation they are abducting everyone. Lady: Sir, I have a doubt. You are saying they are kidnapping with the approval of family and victim. Then how can it be a kidnapping? VM: Law says approval from family is not considered in front of law for abduction. The main motive of kidnapping is money, stealing body organs, bonded labour, exploitation etc. Lady: So sir are they using them for illegal works only? VM: Hotels, construction work,, brick manufacturing, industry like that for many such work they are using them. Lady: Is there any law to stop human trafficking? VM: Till 2 years back there was not laws specially for this. In 2018 Govt passed the bill for prevention, rescue, and rehabilitation of trafficked persons. Lady: For what? To give punishments for the convicts? VM: Yes, minimum of imprisonment for 10 years and maximum of death penalty also along with that fine of Rs.1 lakh. Lady: Ok What does the law says about victims? VM: Victims, those who gave information about it, all the informations should be kept secretly. Lady: Dont they have compensation for the victims? VM: Intermediate compensation should be given within 30 days of complaint filed. Full compensation should be given with 60 days of crime report submission. Not only that investigation should be completed within 1 year. Lady: Sir, how to prevent from human trafficking? VM: This is the important question!!

Interviewer: Interview with Mr. Ponnusamy about new labour code continues. Lets hear that. Ponnusamy: Things related to appointing and terminating the employees has been made easy. Earlier companies with more than hundred employees cannot terminate workers without prior notice. Now the limitation has been extended to 300. Now companies with less than 300 employees can terminate the workers whenever they want. Earlier companies with less than 100 workers are not necessary to maintain the work timing of the workers. Now the limitation has been extended to 300. Also workers protesting against the company has made difficult. Limitation of appointing contract staffs has been increased. Those who are supporting this amendment say that with this new labour code, work opportunities will increase and investment will increase. But the field reality is different. The existing policies has been already implemented by Gujarath and Rajasthan ew years back. But job opportunities were not created in much quantity. Rather, survey says that joblessness, work exploitation has increased. In Indian Employment Framework, 90% Informal works take part. only 10% works are organised works. In this situation, this new laws will make organised work into unorganised works and it will increase the work exploitation. Already Indian companies are not following labour properly. Many labour laws are just for name sake. With this new laws, name sake laws will also be taken off. Ramasamy: So, it means earlier labour laws were atleast for name sake. P1: Yea, so employers were atleast scared of something. Ramasamy: But now, with new labour laws employers are allowed to do whatever they want. P1: Yes!! Ponnusamy sir is saying the concept of organised labours will vanish one day!! Ramasamy: Its not a structure then, its a hindrance!! P1: Thats all!! Now the question is what are we going to do? Ponnusamy: Lets be aware dear labours!! Thank you!! Interviewer: Thanks to Ponnusamy sir for explaining about labour laws in a easy and understandable way
