This adhar number is used for Identity and address proof. Without any age and sex discrimination it is given by Indian Govt. Any citizen can apply for Adhar card. Its enough for any individual to register it once. And this registration is free. This adhar number is useful for every individual in any age. Also to get gas connection, passport, to buy or to sell property, start PF, to claim PF money, start bank account adhar card is must.. This has been announced by Central Govt. Thank you. One of our listener has raised has asked her doubt regarding it and Mr. Ponnusamy is clearing the doubt. Lets hear. Caller 1: Before marriage in our house we had farmers card. I knew that. Still I wanted to have welfare card so i registered in it. I am a member in that union. In VO office they are saying either have farmers card or have welfare card. They are asking us to use any one. Do we have to keep only one? Please do ask and let me know. Which one is good for us? In future which one will be useful. Request you to tell me this. Caller 2: I am calling from North Madurai. While getting sign from VO in union card, they are taking farmers card. Whether having farmers card is beneficial or having welfare card is good. I dont know what to do. So please advice me. Ponnusamy: Agriculture workers are those who dont own land but they are fully working in someone else's land for wages and doing agriculture and agriculture based work, and they are fully dependent on agriculture. Farmers welfare scheme was implemented for their welfare and safety. In the year 1982 Tamil Nadu Manual Workers act was introduced to stream line the unorganised workers and give them social safety. Workers who are member in Tamilnadu construction workers union who are doing 53 different kinds of works and 60 kinds of workers who are members in Tamilnadu manual workers welfare board are being benefited due to this. If you are a unorganised worker, you can get benefited by using welfare card. If you are doing agriculture work with dry land and wet land you can get benefited with farmers card. If you dont have dry or wet land and you are not involved in agriculture, then farmers card will not be useful for you. According to your work, it is good to have a welfare card and get benefited. Leone: Thanks to Mr. Ponnusamy for explaining it clearly. We got more information from Mr. Chella Selvakumar from TRLM Union. Farmers card is given to the head of the family alone. But welfare card is given to all the manual workers cum members of the family who are above 18 years. So, since farmers card is given to only to the head of the family, the benefits will be only for him and the who are dependent on him. But if there are 2-4 manual workers in the family, and all the manual workers will get the manual workers card, so family and all the members will get benefited. So rather than getting farmers card, its better to get individual welfare card as manual workers.

A person's photo is there in our family ration card. He is no more alive now. How to change the photo? Ponnusamy: Every ration card will be in the name of head of the family and with the photo. If a person whose photo is there in the family ration card is no more alive, then submit death certificate of the deceased to e-service center. And name should be removed. After that apply with next level family head's photo and get the ration card. Leone: That was a perfect answer. Photo of the head of the family will reflect in ration card. What to do if the person is no more alive. What to do if a photo of nonmember or some one who is not related to our family reflects in that card? The answer for this question is, take the photo of the head of the family to e-service center and tell that the person's photo which is reflecting in our ration card is not related to our family and this is the photo of our family head. And you can change it.

Cleaning staff has been changed as Sanitary workers. During this corona time, these sanitary workers are not considering their lives and they are cleaning the roads and streets. And battling with corona to safeguard people's life. But their real situation, and the answer for their question will be answered by Ponnusamy. Caller: I am calling from Madurai dist, Thirumangalam taluk Kaplur panchayath. I am working as Sanitary inspector. I dont have welfare card. I dont know what to do. I request you to help me in registering welfare card. Ponnusamy: Under Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation Limited (TAHDCO) sanitary workers welfare board has been started in the year 2008 and ID cards were give to sanitary workers who are working under varies Local Authorities till 2012. After 2012 sanitary workers welfare board is not working after that. Hence, starting from village panchayath sanitary worker to Corporation sanitary workers cannot welfare card.

Folk artists have asked question on how to register and to way to get Govt benefits. We have Mr. Ponnusamy answering about it. Lets hear. Caller: I am calling from Dindugal dist Ottanchathiram, Kyakarambu Panchayath,Thippanpatti colony. Due to corona from last 3 month we folk artist are not getting any income. We dont have money to buy milk too. Rice is given in ration shop. 20 kg rice is given in ration shop. 20 kg rice is sufficient for only 10 days. If we had work we run our family smoothly. Due to no job we have no job. I need ID card from Govt for Folk artists. I dont even know where is the office related to art. Please help us. Ponnusamy: How folk artists can register in welfare board. Tamil nadu folk artistes welfare board comes under Tamil nadu Art & Culture dept. Artist aging 18 years to 60 years are joined in this board. All the benefits which are received by registered unorganised workers has been given to registered folk artists as per the GO dated 17-09-2019. Since folk artists are not registering they are not getting any benefits and becoming vulnerable. Where can folk artists register? Folk artists can register with all the proper documents at Madurai zonal art and culture dept and become the members. Documents required are: family card, voter ID, bank account number, Adhar card, permanent cell phone number. Get a document from your village VAO saying they are folk artists from last 5- 10 years and he will sign on it. If the applicant has the document of Kalaimamani award Kali sudar award, they can attach along with it during registration. After applying in Art and culture dept you will be given separate receipt for ID and welfare card. After 15 days or 1month you can get you ID card. 

In today's En Kelvikku Enna bathil program, a listener has asked a question about welfare card renewal. Mr. Ponnusamy has answered for it. Lets hear that. Kalpana : I am Kalpana calling from Mangalapuram, Sakthi taluk, Gopi zone and Erode dist. I have welfare card but i didnt renew it because i dont know how to renew it. I didnt get any welfare benefits. It will be good if you can help me. Ponnusamy: A caller said she has welfare card but she didnt renew it and asked how to renew it. Those who have registered welfare card before 2016 have to renew the card once in 2 years. Those unorganised workers have got the welfare card after 2016, they can renew once in 5 years. If you have got your welfare card before 2016 and didnt renew it, then go to your village officer and give the form. In that form it will be mentioned that this person is doing this particular work. And this document is given to renew welfare card in construction workers welfare board. VAO will investigate and put the seal and sign on it. Take that form and your original welfare card which needs to renew and submit it to concerned dist welfare board. Immediately they will renew and give it to you.
