Everywhere we conducted meeting and spoke to them. ome people joined and few said they will join tomorrow Since it was raining we came back early. We will visit other places tomorrow. Since i am not well, i am unable to meet many people.

I am Sangeetha from PTS Tiruvallur office. We went to JJ nagar area. More than 50 women attended the meeting. We spoke to them about PTS. The head said she will help in joining members. Their 1st request was they are facing lot of mosquito problems. We met and associate head and spoke to him. He said mosquito sprays will be sprayed in that area. We were happy to meet them.
I am Veni from PTS Pudhiya kanniyama nagar. We have conducted meeting in new branch JJ nagar. Sandhanamari sis, Sumathi, Saraswathi, Sangeetha were present in the meeting. More than 50 women were present in the meeting. They sell hair extensions. We told them about about union and laws. They said they doesnt know that unions are existed. We have asked them to join PTS. They have asked for few things. As a first step me and Santhanamari sis met the head and asked them to spray medicine for mosquitoes. Associate head Diwakar said he will do it.
Kani: Hi. we have our union member. Come lets talk to her. Hello. Whats your name? How many kids do you have? Whats your husband doing? Gunasundari: My name Gunasundari. I am coming from Pudur. I have 3 kids. My husband is an auto driver. K: What work do you do? G: I was doing tailoring work here. I was not getting enough income here so i work in abroad.. K: Where do you live? G: I was living in Mauritius. K: What kind of work were you doing? G: I went as a patient care so my work is to give medicines, giving them bath, making breakfast for them, taking care of their diet. They had separate person for domestic help. K: When you do such kind of work, if you are not well, will they take care of you? Or will they force you to work? G: No its not like that. If we are not well, they take us to hospital and take care. K: What about leave and salary? G: Salary will be credited in our account but we cannot expect leaves. Its not that we have to take care 24/7/ they sleep in the afternoon and night. Even domestic help is the same, just the way we work at home, we work there. K: Here domestic helpers salary is low, do you think the salary you get is sufficient? G: They give all the necessary things and on top of it they give rs.35000 salary. K: Thank you. Now which country are you going to? G: I have applied for Dubai. K: How many days are you going to stay and what work you will be doing there? G: I am going there through a known person so i have got visiting visa. So in the same way when you go there in visiting visa, just know who are they, where do they live, is it safe to go. And ask for ECR passport. Only if we get clearance we will be allowed inside the airport. Women should go with safety. So better take ECR and get the clearance. K: We are happy that our member is safe in abroad. Thank you
