I am Sneha from Thirakalakundram. When i came to know about PTS i was really happy. Till now i have never heard about any union giving so much importance to women. Thanks to UK.

I am Jayapriya from Kovalam. Today i came and met workers union. I have joined as member and i will also work as volunteer. Now on often i will call UK.

I am Karpagam from Kagan village. Gramasabha meeting was conducted in our village. 30 of us attended the meeting.

I am Shenbagavalli from Vyasarpadi. Savitha came here and spoke about UK among these women. 15 women participated in it. Today being Tirupathi Tirukudai many women couldnt take part. I would like to tell that in coming meeting we will try to register more women.

I am Dhanalakshmi from PTS. Vijayalakshmi is constantly contributing in UK. She has told very well about welfare board benefits. I would like to thank and congratulate her on behalf of everyone.

Annadurai: Is your company name RK company? Why are you protesting here? Please explain. Employee: We are on strike for the past 1 week. But we didnt get response from them. We have given the increment of Rs. 100- Rs. 50. This is not sufficient for us. I am working here from past 8 years. I am still getting the same salary. They should give the increment of at 500. If they give 50, 10, 8 rupees as income, how can we survive in this cost of living? Our family is running in our income. There are many families where lady is working and taking care of the family. So we are on strike. Annadurai: Whats your next plan of action? Employee: Our demand is to open this company and our salary should also be increased. If this problem is not getting the proper solution, the problem will increase. Annadurai: Ok Thank you. ------------------------------------------------- Annadurai: What is your problem and why are you on strike? What are your demands? Employee 2: The strike is for increment. We asked for increment but they didnt give us. They told us, if you are willing to continue you can work here. Otherwise you can leave. Now they have closed the company. A: Please say the company name. E2: RK company. A: What are your demands and how many people are working here? E2: We have asked for increment. We are more than 200 to 250 workers in the company. ------------------------------------------------- Employee 3: I am working in RK company. The problem is about increment. Salary is very low and they are not giving increment. They have given the increment of Rs. 8, Rs.11, Rs. 50. Already salary is very low. They give only Rs.8000. In this 8000 we give Rs.2000 for auto, PF of Rs.1000 will be deducted, late entry and half day leave will also be deducted. After all these deduction, we will get only 3000-4000. There is no ESI or transport facility. If at all they have given the increment of Rs.500 we should have got the salary of Rs.11000 or rs.12000 by this time. For 1 year they give Rs.8, Rs.11, Rs.50 or Rs.100. Even if we come 5 minutes late, they ask us to work till 6.30. But we are not given OT money. Annadurai: What are you planning to do,if they are not considering your request? E3: This protest will continue. We asked to come by 9am. But the company is closed. Nobody knows anything about it. Its raining heavily but still we are standing here till 1.30 pm. Nobody has taken any action. Even sir didnt call and speak to us. They said they can give only Rs.8, Rs.11, Rs.50. If you are willing to work, you can work, otherwise you can do whatever you want.

When PTS started Sumathi came to our panchayth head and asked who can work in this area better for the wefare of women. He suggested my name. Sumathi introduced me to PTS. Initially i joined only 20 member, later we started helping many people and through them we started getting many people to our union. In Vadanimali we have 110 as of now. Every year I help them in getting education fund. Recently one person lost her husband, we helped in getting funeral benefit amount. Dhanalakshmi and Annadurai visits often and speak to our members. We meet workers directly. We are helping members to gets many welfare funds, education fund, funeral fund, widow pension, elderly pension. Because of PTS we are able to help people to get the benefits from Govt
