Narrator: This is an incident which is shared by Scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Which happened during his childhood days. And this is an incident which we will should hold by and follow. One fine night when i was a child, my mom Ashiamma was cooking. She was just back from work. Only if she goes out for work, we were able to manage our financial needs. After coming back from work, my mom was preparing rotis for dinner. She served the rotis to dad. I saw it. That roti was burnt. But dad was not bothered about it. He started eating while talking to me. He asked me how the school that day. I gave some answer. Because my full concentration was on that roti. Dad was about to finish that roti and mum observed that the roti was burnt. She apologised to dad. Dad continued eating that burnt roti and said, I like such rotis. He said this and finished eating and got up. I knew it very well, how can he like such roti!! I was thinking, why dad ate this. I couldnt resist. Before sleeping i went to dad and asked dad, do you really like burnt roti? My dad was quiet for some time without answering my question. Then he called me near to him and hugged me and said, your mom goes to work and makes food for us daily. She will be tired. I dont like burnt roti but i like your mum. My dad Jainulabiddin made me understand this. Abdul, a burnt roti wont hurt anyone, but harsh words hurt them. Our beloved Kalam shared this with Dinakaram newspaper. He said, i am not a great person like my dad. But i am tried for that. All great love songs will start from small understandings. Mother, daughter or sister, each and every woman who is dedicating themselves for the family are achiever women. Let us understand our women at our home and treat them respectfully.
