This was introduced for the Socioeconomic justice of the worker. In 1955 because of the effort of the workers of Coimbattur, this has come up with the improved version. In 1948 when it was introduced PF was used when a worker dies or he meets with any accident or when a women worker undergoes any major surgery. As per this act, if the number of workers in any company is 10 -12 this act applies to them. Almost for all the companies or mills, this act applies. From day 1 of the worker, this act will be applied. The necessary documents should be prepared and submitted by the company to ESI office. Normally 4.5% will be contributed from the employer and 1.7% from employee should be paid in ESI office.
