Greetings friends, My name is Arun, and I am speaking from Chitrakoot district, Uttar Pradesh. I have been listening to people sharing information about their livelihoods on the Hamari Vaani platform, so I would also like to share my experience. For the past several years, I have been running a small grocery shop as a means of livelihood. While running a shop may seem simple, a visually impaired person has to face many challenges in managing it. For example, it is important to identify different currency notes, detect counterfeit notes, know where various items are placed in the shop, and manage customers and stock efficiently. All these tasks require proper planning, organization, confidence, and continuous learning. Despite the challenges, I have been able to manage my shop and support myself through this work. I would like to encourage other visually impaired friends not to underestimate their abilities. With determination, patience, and the right support, it is possible to run a business and earn a livelihood independently. Thank you.
