Hello friends, I am Satish Kumar from Dali, 100% blind. On this Divyang (Persons with Disabilities) Day, I want to recite a poem before you that will inspire you. Rise, rise O youth power of this nation, Lift the burden of your mother’s suffering. You brought freedom, Now love that freedom dearly. Hidden is the love of Rana, And the pride of the brave Shivaji. Hidden is the love of Rana, And the honor of brave Shiva. Forgotten are the identities Of Rajguru, Sukhdev and Bhagat Singh. The glorious tale of Laxmi Bai, And the enchanting tune of Mangal Pandey. The forgotten smiles Of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s four sons. Fulfil the dreams Of Bal, Pal, Gopal and Lal. Rise, O youth of the nation, Lift the burden of your mother’s pain. You brought freedom, Now cherish that freedom. The swayamvar of freedom Was written in Jallianwala Bagh. Guns stood ready Like water-guns of blood. Wearing the saffron robe of revolution, They jumped into the fire singing. Children, elders and the youth— All were lost in this passionate melody. Wearing the saffron robe of revolution, They jumped into the fire singing. Fulfil the dreams Of Bal, Pal, Gopal and Lal. Rise, O youth of the nation, Lift the burden of your mother’s pain. You brought freedom, Now love that freedom dearly. Ending this poem, on this Divyang Day, I want to say to all Divyang brothers and sisters: May you all unite as one, For unity is strength— In unity lies power. There is no benefit in fighting among ourselves. This is the time to stand together as one, To become aware of our rights, And to make society aware as well.
