Basudev Turi from Nawadih Block, Bokaro District called up to inform the listeners of Jharkhand Mobile Vaani about a three day training camp being organized by the Labour Department from 8-10th April in Kansiro Panchayat, Uperghat. Providing a summary of the event, Turi says that around 50 male female labourers attended this camp and Labour Enforcement Officer, Shri Suresh Prasad Rajak informed the labourers that this camp has been organized to make them aware about their rights and entitlements and the procedure to access them. Giving excerpts from the event, Turi says that Rajak reiterated the equal work, equal pay rule for male and female labourers and asked them to report such incidences at the Block level to the Block Enforcement Officer. Quoting a ward member who also happened to speak during the event, Turi said that the labour laws have been in place since a long time, but now is the time to enforce them more strongly.
