Brother, CBSE Board does conduct exams, but now it has stopped providing direct admission for 10th and 12th through that system. If your friend wants to complete 10th or 12th now, then you should get it done through the NIOS Board, because CBSE Board has stopped that process. Thank you for asking the question.
