Definition and types of Computer

EnAble India is starting a new initiative for the Spinal Cord Injury, (that is) SCI community. The purpose of this initiative is to: Create awareness, connect people with the right opportunities, and build new pathways for independent living and livelihood for persons with SCI. We believe that the voices, experiences, and suggestions of the SCI community are the most important in guiding this initiative in the right direction. We request all of you to share your experiences and important information related to SCI with us. For example: How did you get information about rehabilitation? What is the importance of rehabilitation? What is SCI, and what challenges do people face after injury? How can bed sores be prevented? How can a person become self-reliant and independent? Can persons with SCI continue education, jobs, or start their own business? What kind of daily living solutions SCI people use for an independent living. A special 2-month training program for visually impaired women students is going to start at Sri Sarada Math Rasik Bhita (449 Dum Dum Park, Jessore Road, Kolkata – 700055) from the first week of June 2026, in collaboration with Enable India. Training Highlights Computer Training Students will learn: Windows using NVDA screen reader MS Office Internet usage Each student will get access to an individual computer. Residential students staying in PG accommodation will also get additional practice opportunities. Spoken English & Job Skills The course will include: Spoken English communication Workplace and employability skills required for jobs Mobility & Independent Living Skills Students will be trained to independently: Travel using public transport (bus, metro, etc.) Go shopping and manage daily activities Count and handle money Use cooking gas safely Perform basic cooking and household tasks AI Tools & Mobile Apps The program will also introduce: Useful AI tools Accessible mobile applications for visually impaired users Eligibility & Rules Course Duration: 2 months Class Timing: Every day except Tuesday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM Age Limit: 18 to 30 years Minimum Qualification: Passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary) Only for visually impaired female students Minimum 90% attendance required to receive certificate Stipend & Financial Support For Residential (PG) Students Students staying in PG accommodation will receive: ₹7,000 per month for food and accommodation (Attendance-based payment: stipend will be calculated according to actual attendance.) For Non-Residential Students Students travelling from home daily will receive: ₹60 per day as travel allowance (Paid monthly based on attendance.) 914139
