on 9th August 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave the call for the Quit India Movement.On this day, at the All India Congress Committee meeting held at Gowalia Tank Maidan in Mumbai, Gandhi gave the famous slogan: “Do or Die”, urging the British to leave India immediately. The Quit India Movement became one of the most significant mass movements in India’s struggle for independence.
