And these numbers are not just written on one side — they are usually marked on three or four sides of the pillars, so they're visible from multiple angles. One more thing I’d like to share: when we board the train at the station and enter the coaches, the coach numbers such as S1, S2, S3, General, etc., are written near the doors of the coaches, just above your shoulder, usually on the side of the door. So if you pay attention, you can easily identify your coach
