Nowadays, a lot of rumors and misinformation are spreading among our visually impaired brothers and sisters. If someone tells them even a small thing, they immediately panic as if something very big has happened, and it feels like someone is taking away their rights. First, they don’t carefully read the notification, they don’t listen properly, and they don’t try to understand it. Instead, they multiply their worries in their own minds. When did the state government say that you cannot take a scribe? One person mentioned several vacancies like SSC, banking exams, and other competitive exams. They are saying that the state government has issued a rule that you cannot take your scribe (writer). Now we need to understand—who said that you cannot take a scribe? You can take a scribe. However, what has been stated in the guidelines is that you cannot take someone who is a professor, someone who has done Special B.Ed., or someone with a very high-level degree. But it has not been said that you cannot take a scribe at all. Many times it happens that candidates become so confused that they don’t even get a scribe at the exam center. Sometimes even the center authorities say, “Please bring your own writer. How many writers can we arrange?” They also respond honestly because they do not always have enough scribes available. They try to help as much as they can, and they are permitted to do so. They assist visually impaired candidates to the best of their ability. But sometimes the number of needy candidates is higher, and due to the large number of examinees, they cannot manage everything. So they help as much as possible. Therefore, you all should pay attention to the news and carefully read whatever information you receive. Understand it properly. Even if a law is implemented, there will still be certain relaxations and provisions that are valid for you. Your future is not being taken away. If we look at it from another perspective, why can’t visually impaired candidates take responsibility themselves? It is also true that some shortcomings among us led to such strict laws being implemented. And now the same people are questioning why these changes have happened. So we must also accept that there were some mistakes on our part. We should realize our mistakes and take a pledge not to repeat them. What has been implemented is done. Now we should focus on what changes may come in the future and how we can rise above this situation. Each of us must find our own way, bring out our talent, use our minds wisely, and prepare with greater dedication and hard work.
