"Hello, my name is Arvind Singh Kesari. I’m speaking from the railway station in Ambala district, Haryana. I have a question about a girl who is 100% visually impaired. She is from Jammu and wants to study in Amritsar. Whether it’s for 10th, 11th, 12th, or graduation – will she get a hostel there or not? Now, the school there is only for boys. There is no facility for girls. There are a few blind girls living there but if a girl wants to study, in Haryana we have places like Nirmana, Rohtak, and Diwani where girls can stay. From there, they are sent out for studies. There isn’t a very big college available there. As far as I know, Amritsar has facilities for blind boys but not for girls. I’m from Haryana and I’ve also visited these places. For blind girls, they can also go to Chitrakoot in UP, where there’s Shankarlal Gupta’s institute, and also to Ramdree in Delhi. There, if you want to do 10th or 12th, you can do it. You can even study in Delhi. There are one or two other places where blind girls can stay, but overall, such facilities are very limited."
