Anima Nayak, a postnatal care mother from Mayfair basti ward no 16, shared her experience on disaster preparedness through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). When they received an early warning message on television about heavy rainfall and potential disasters, They prioritized collecting all necessary documents and kept them readily accessible. They prepared dry foods and fruits to carry along, considering their vulnerable living conditions in a slum with less sturdy housing. They wisely relocated to the nearest college or school for safety. It necessary to drink clean water, especially for their babies, they boiled water and packed it. Anima also ensured they had carried a small gas stove for any emergency purpose.After the disaster, they have to face many problems ,where the supply water was disconnected at that time we have to depends upon the alternative sources such as wells and tube wells If the toilet tank is full, we prefer to use open defecation.
