If newly married people are going into a separate family then get the cancellation document of your name from your parents ration card from zonal supply officer. Then apply for new ration card with your zonal supply officer where you are going to reside now. Documents to be attached along with the application are - housing tax document or, electricity bill, address proof, voter ID, with passport size photo. After filing it, concerned officer will directly and inquire about it. Within 1 or 2 months you will be getting new ration card.

Everyone will get everything. In White card you get get Sugar and other essentials except rice. In our city we say it as Sugar card. Khaki color is given for Police and Department of Prisons. And Blues card is given for forest dept people. As said Vijayalakshmi all ration card became smart card and this has been divided into 5 different types. All these smart card will look similar. But the coding is different. The code will be at the left end of your smart card. If it has PHH it means they are given first priority and given all the things including rice. If it has PHHAA they will get all items including rice of 35 kg. If your card has NPHH, it means you not given priority but still you will get all the items. NPHHS is sugar card. You will get everything except rice. If the code has NPHHNC, you will not get any provisions but you can use it as ID card and use it as address proof.
