I am Kuruvammal from Meenampatti. We met sanitary workers of Meenampatti and collected datas. Also came to know who all are permanent workers. Also found 5 legal problems were found and petition was written for 5 people for ration card.
I am Annakamu. I am daily wage worker and get Rs. 150. But now all are stuck at home. We dont have work and kids are struggling without food. Their studies got affected. I am alone taking care of my house.Due to corona virus we are stuck at home and if we go out officers are threatening us. So we are at home. We buy 20kg of rice, I am not able to make good food for 2 kids. I am making porridge and giving it to them.
I am Mariammal from Ambedkar union. 5 people have been found positive for Corona virus in Ottanchathiram. It will be good if people follow lock down. but no one is obeying it. they are coming out. I request all to cooperate. Only if we cooperate we can fight with corona. Dont allow kids to go out. If you have to buy anything please obey the timing.
Interview With Selvaraj - He is working as a sanitary worker from last 12 years. He gets the salary of Rs. 6500. They have given hand gloves, shoes. In this corona virus threat they are given all safety items and asking to do all works like collecting trash, spraying disinfectant etc. Govt is giving all sorts of work but salary should be increased. Gram panchayath is giving less salary.
Interview with construction worker Valarmathi from Puthuputtur. She treats section 144 in 2 ways. Its good in a way to safeguard people from getting infected. In a negative perspective people are locked at home and cant go anywhere. There financial situation is getting affected. Govt said they will give Rs. 1000 but we didnt receive it yet. we are 7 people at home. Even if we reduce our expenses we need Rs. 200 per day. For 30 days we need Rs. 6000. Govt Rs. 1000 is not sufficient. I request Govt to give Rs. 6000 to meet our expenses.
I am Prema from Melkottai. Due to corona people cannot go out for work and they are struggling for their day to day food. Even if both husband and wife goes for work, the money is no sufficient. In such situation if we are not going for work how can we afford to eat? How can we feed kids? There are many such problems. Govt said it will give Rs. 1000, will this money be sufficient? After going for work we get 5000-10000 even that money is not sufficient. How come this Rs. 1000 be sufficient? Buying vegetables for a month will cost Rs. 500 then how can be this money be sufficient? whether people will die from corona or not they will sure die from hunger if the situation continues.
I am Ramalakshmi from Semmalar union. Govt has announced to give Rs. 1000 to each ration card holders. All are suffering without going for work. Women are earning Rs. 500 per day and Rs. 3000 per week in matchstick company. Govt said it will give Rs. 1000 per ration card. It will be good if Govt Rs. 10000 per card.
I am Nagarathinam. Many doctors, nurses and police are working day and night for this corona virus prevention. All sanitary workers are spraying medicines for our safety. So respect Govt rule and isolate yourself and help in preventing corona virus.
