I am Fathima from Cholan nagar. I work as construction worker. Padma told me about PTS. She said by joining there are many benefits. Joining union is good for our safety. I attended the protest on September 20th. It was useful and I learnt many things. I have brought my mother today to PTS to apply for Pension. She is unable to walk so I brought her in auto riksha. I think online registration is good for old people.
I am Santhanamari. From 1 year pension was not given. We met commissioner, labour secretary, and gave petition. Last 6 months people struggled alot. And we couldnt answer to the question asked by old age people. they thouught we are not working on it. But we were working on it.

I am Vijayalakshmi from Eri scheme.Mahalingam and Kalaislevi from AKR nagar didnt receive their OAP money from many month. After our protest they got their OAP money. They are very happy.
I am Padmavati from PTS. Today mam conducted meeting. 160 attended the meeting happily. All are expecting financial help. To get good name in Cholan nagar we need to help them.
My mom gor OAP for 6 months. But from last 2 years she has not received pension. My father is no more alive. There is no one to help my mom.
I am Sumathi from PTS. From last 8 months that is including this month, pension has been stopped for unorganised workers. This is pension is may not fulfill all our needs but to some extent it does fulfill our job. From last 8-9 months pension has been stopped. The arrear pension should be given immediately and pension should should be given every month. Also pension amount should be increased from Rs.1000 to Rs.3000. For pensions alone we have given petition to Commissioner of Labor TN, TN Physical labours safety and welfare board secretary. On September 1st, we protest to fulfill the needs of domestic helpers. even in that protest our one of the main demands were about giving pension. When we spoke to welfare board they said September he pension will be given. Confirming the statement mam has sent a document through TN Physical labours safety and welfare board secretary. We have complained and on 1st we have protested and brought it to Govt notice. I feel because of that the fund has been allotted. Before corona, those who have registered for pension they will get pension. Anna nagar MGR Colony Ms. Sholiyammal will get the pension. This is what we got to know by welfare board.
I am Sarati from Ayapakkam. During this corona, domestic helpers are struggling alot. Just few minutes back a person spoke. Though the work is given, they are not getting old income. They are struggling alot. Santhanamari mam asked many people to give the welfare card and helped them in getting the welfare board benefits. Still 5-6 people didnt get the money. Mam said they will getting some time. Also there are widows here and they are asking for widow pension. Many widows who have lost their husbands due to alcohol addiction are going as domestic helpers. They are sharing with me that it will be good if they can get widow pension. Union is helping in getting old age pension, scholarship. I dont know about widow pension but it will be good if you can help in getting this. There are few responsible men who are struggling to take care of family during corona. Not all are responsible there are few men who are drinking and living in their own way. Women are struggling to take car of the family.
Grievance: My husband was a member in construction workers union. I am a member in PTS. Its been one year after his death. I am yet to get funeral benefit money. I have given it to Sumathi mam in Kelambakkam. She said i will get money. But its been an year now, till now i have not received any information about it. It will be great help if we get that money. We have told her that we will apply. We applied and after that there was no news Then i called her and she didnt pick the call. I asked Pushparani, branch incharged to follow it up. She agreed to it. Success story: I am Pushparani fro Vadanimalai. Her husband has a card in PTS. Its been one year of his death. Sumathi from PTS has come forward and helped her getting benefit fund by spending her own money. Its been 4 months that she received the funeral benefit fund.
