I am Karpagam from Perumbakkam. One of the sanitary worker named Eswar is diagnosed with corona virus infection. It is said that he was working in Saidapet area. I would like to tell Govt that it will good if you appoint sanitary workers in their on area. They can work there and can go back to their house early. Those who are staying far, they are picked up in van. Like this they are spreading the disease. Now Perumbakkam is red zoned and its closed. We are not able to go anywhere. Due to lock down there was no chance of getting the infection in our area. But now because of going to work he got it. Govt should take the full responsibility. And they should be appointed to work in their own area. Many people are retired you can ask them to work.
Our first demand on this May day is, our income should be safe and continued. Free ration, Rs.5000 for all workers till the lock down is getting over. But lock down cannot be revoked immediately because everyone should be tested, number of hospitals should be increased, safety of worker and their family is important. Our country population is huge, We cannot support all. So lets support old people around us. Safe job opportunity should be provided to all workers. All workers should be created a safe, supportive environment. Sanitary workers should be given safety equipments, transport, food, double salary. There are many migrant workers here. they should be given food, safe place to stay, transport facility for them t reach their state. Now on all of us are united. And efforts of Govt to divide labours based on type of job, religion, or state, language will not be accepted. All of us are united and lets join together to protect our rights. may day wishes to all.
May day wishes to all. This is Sujata PTS head. For the first time due to corona virus we are celebrating May day at home, without going anywhere. My first thought goes for Doctors, sanitary workers. They are saving us from Corona virus. Govt is yet to give them safety items. Lock down is bringing many types of problems. Our job, wages, income, nothing is permanent now. For the first time we are struggling like this. In this lock down we are not able to come out and talk and secondly out of fear of getting this virus we are not going out. Whats the reason? And whats the reason for this lockdown? Govt has reduced general sectors and made hospitals as private hospitals. There is no hospitals with 500 beds. In this situation if our workers are getting fever the Govt has no facility to take care of them. Creating more nurse, doctor and safety is not possible immediately. Rich people are saving money. You might have seen lakhs crore of rupees has reach some people and Govt now has laying it off that loan. But if Normal worker is taking loan for study, agriculture Govt is not laying it off. Farmers are committing suicide. Govt is saying not to give DA to low level workers. So rich people are travel go anywhere and bring any disease.
I am Kamala from Chengalpet, Munthithoppu. Many people have unorganised workers card. Every poor person understood that unorganised workers are getting help through it. There are many people without unorganised workers welfare card. Even they should know its importance. Thanks to PTS.
I am Shanbhagavalli from Vyasarpadi. I have a request to Chennai corporation. Some people are involved in corona survey. When i I see some people they dont have mask or gloves. Some are wearing it. They are working for society by pledging their life. So I request Corporation that everyone should wear it and those who are not wearing it, please provide them masks and gloves.

I am Shenbagavalli from Vyasarpadi. 25 men from Men self help group, they have registered in welfare board in 2006. They are all share auto drivers. Till now they didnt get any help. They told that Kids in their house and starving. I am registering this in UK becasue i want to know whether thee 25 people can approach Tahsildar or collector. Or can we take some other effort. It will be like helping 25 men on our behalf.
I am Shenbagavalli from Vyasarpadi. In areas like Vyasarpadi, Permabalur, Bharati nagar, Kannadasan nagar, Kurukupettai, Vannarpettai, Thondayarpettai has been locked due to corona. When i spoke to the people of that area, they said they didnt get any essential products. They are suffering with kids and old people. They said they dont have any savings. So they asked to record in UK.I am recording in UK on their behalf.
Karpagam Interviewing Sanitation Worker - I didnt get any help. Govt said they will give double salary but i didnt get it. I have got the regular salary mount only. We are given mask and gloves only. We didnt get soap but some liquid they have given. I have got last month saalry but didnt get this month salary that too as told by them to double salary i have got regular salary only.
