I am Dhanalakshmi from PTS. Today special Gram sabha meeting was held in Manamadhi Panchayat. I participated in the meeting. 250 workers, including 100 day scheme workers, construction workers, 25 men participated in the meeting. Total of 250 people participated in gram sabha. Panchayat clerk, 100 days work officer Tiruporur BDO, participated in the meeting. Since we participated in the meeting they conducted as per the rule. As I already told you all, public can ask their request during gram sabha to VO or BDO. This is our right. The decision taken will go directly to collector. I told this to everyone before the meeting at 9.30am. The meeting started at 10am. Everyone asked about water scarcity.They have asked for 2 weeks time to solve water scarcity problem. In 100 days work, they asked for daily work. They they will do it by the end of July month. In the scheme the daily salary is Rs. 229 but they are giving on Rs. 180. Public asked about it. They answered its upto your work. Its not like that. No one can work under this hot sun for 6 to 7 hours. People asked to give money as per mentioned in the scheme. Even for that they have agreed. Hello. I am Dhanalakshmi. One of our member Rosemary who works in Celebrity company is facing many problems in her family life. because her Mother in law and other are hitting her daily. Because she has no house. Daily they are hitting her and asking her to go some where else. we have given complaint through our union. We have filed case and remanded them and scared them. Now they have made Rosemary arrested like a criminal. Surely we condemn it. Even you can share your comments.
I am Dhanalakshmi from GAFWU. Many in charges have given their interviews in UK. Our union is in Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chennai and Thiruvannamalai. we work on the rights, safety and legal related things of workers. We have found many solutions for their problems. We have got welfare membership for all our union members and given them the card. With the help of card we have secured their kids school fees, marriage, and their pension. We have done many things, among those especially i want to quote this incident. Periyathayi from Chrompet who is the first member of our union. We have applied for her pension in 2011. But she was not giving the pension and faced many problems. We filed a case in high court and fought for her. She was given the pension along with the arrears in 2018.
