Central Govt has passed orders to close the entry of all district and states to stop its spread. Those who are not following the lockdown will be locked in isolated rooms for 14 days.
I am Saraswati from Kelambakkam. As Sandhanamari sis said all domestic helpers are at home. The thing is even when you work they give you salary by 10th or 15th. Now since the domestic helpers are not going for work, giving full salary is a big question mark. Already in this area no bonus is given for the domestic helpers. Giving salary without working is like giving bonus for them. So dont know whether they give. Many widows are doing in to this work in this area. They are not getting money to buy provisions for them.

Vimala Interviewing Pachaiyammal. She is domestic helper in AKR nagar. Owner has given leave and told her that they will give this month salary. But next month salary they are not giving. She says she feels helpless and dont know what to do for rent, food expenses, She is asking that Govt should be approached and something should be done.
I am Viajayalakshmi from eri scheme. Due to Corona virus nobody is going for work. Even Vimala has recorded about it. Mam has replied for it. 2 people called me and told that their owners are saying everyone is going for work except you. If they come for work, your work will be done easily but their family will get affected if they get corona virus. So i request all the house owners to not to call domestic helpers for work. All domestic helper please stay at home. That is good for us. Owners will call you to come and do the work. We are the one who are getting affected. So dont go for work. Stay safe.

I am Vimala from Mogappair. In our area all of them are domestic helpers. Everyone are given leave. But they were worried whether they will get the salary or not. Even though the owners give full salary for this month, its lockdown till 14th. So people are worried about this. All domestic helpers are saying that lets talk to mam and ask the govt to help domestic helpers. I am putting the request in UK too. Controlling 12-13 year old kids is really difficult. They are going out and playing. whatever we are saying they are ignoring it. Police came and announced to not to come out. Many domestic helpers has told many requests. Govt has announced schemes for other workers but they have not mentioned about domestic helpers specifically.
1) 1.70 crore lakh rupees assistance will be given to cooley workers, also helps will be given to farmers, widows and pensioners under Jan dhan yojana, Rs. 2000 will be transffered to 8.7 crore farmers bank account as first step, Rs. 2000 will be transferred to 5 crore people under NREGA scheme, Old age people, widows and differently abled people will get Rs. 1000 in 2 installments, say Central Financeminsiter Nirmala Seetharaman. 2) Many private banks, Small financial institutions, self help groups, in villages and cities are collecting daily or monthly interest and principle amounts. In present lockdown situation no one is able to go to work. Such collection of money should be stopped till they get next order. Strict action will be taken against anyone found violating this law. 3) Tamilnadu Govt workers union said they will contribute 1 day salary toward corona relief fund.
