I am working as domestic helper. S: Tell us about your husband and kids. N: My husband was working as plumber. I have 2 kids one boy and 1 girl. My son is mentally challenged. My husband is no more. I went to asked for widow pension. I asked many people including party office and once i went directly to Taluk office and wrote application for it. But they said that they cant give. I really felt bad. I thought if i get that money, it will be useful for my son's medical expenses. Its been 5 years that my husband passed away. From last 5 years i tried to get it but no one helped me and gave the pension. PTS called me one day. Santhanamari mam told to try one more time. They filled the form and went to VO office and then called me again. This time i came with the confidence that i will get it. But i never thought that collector himslef will come and give me widow form. This month itself i got the pension amount. Thanks alot to PTS. S: We are very happy. You told that you went gave asked party office, and everywhere. But you didnt get the pension. But PTS asked me to apply once again. As a result i am seeing the letter in your hand that from this month you can get the pension. More than you we PTS are very happy for this. Do you want to say anything else to union? Last friday, she asked me to give the petition to collector. PTS members went there. And they took me along with them. Successfully they helped me in getting pension. S: Its been how long that you have lot your husband? K: Its been 15 years. S: You didnt get any pension in last 15 years, is it so? K: I asked many about it but no action was taken. My neighbor told me to go through her, and surely i will get money. I went and spoke to her, she asked me to bring all the documents. I submitted all the documents we gave the petition to collector.
