I am Periyathai. I am doing the work of breaking stones. They asked me to join union and i joined. They told me if a stone breaking worker joins union, they will get the pension when you are 60 years old. After being 60 years i was waiting to get pension. Papathi and i requested and wrote for pension. Atleast i had children they gave me something to eat and now i am alive. But she had none to feed her. She fell down and expired. She should have been live if she had given that pension. Its been 3 years now after her death. Govt didnt give pension and she lost her life because of no food. She was a ragpicker and her leg got slipped and she was dead. We went to the union and Just like her please dont allow anyone to die due to hunger. If she had got the pension money she should have not gone as a ragpicker and she would be alive by eating something with that Rs.1000 pension amount. The union people said done feel sad we will help you in getting the pension. Just like they filed case and helped me in getting money, even they will help you too. Be hopeful.
