Dr. Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Indian Meterolgical Department published the weather forecasting early warning message on Cyclone Montha. It is likely to move north-northwestwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic strom by morning of 28th October. Continuing to move futher north-northwestwards, it is very likely to cross Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam around Kakinada during the evening/night of 28th October as a severe Cyclonic storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph.
A forecast was published by Dr. Manorama Mohanty, Director of Indian Metrological Department on upcoming Cyclone Montha. The IMD predicted that Cyclone Montha move nearly west-northwestwards,intensify further into a cyclonic storm over southwest and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours. Therefore, it is likely to move northwestwards,then northwestwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by morning of 28th October. Continuing to move further north-northwestwards, it is likely to cross Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam, and Klaingapatnam around Kakinada during evening/night of 28th October as a severe cyclonic storm with a maxmium sustained wind speed of 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph
Dr.Manorama Mohanty, Director of IMD shared the early warning messages on moderate rain will be occurred in various places of Odisha.
Today Community members are designed the script and recorded awareness messages on heatwave prevention during this extreme heat temperature. Ground water depletion has started so they emphasized water conservation, wisely use and manage water to reduce the water scarcity at the time of heatwave.
Mr.Sanatana Ojha, Caller Club member, Firestation Basti of Ward 50 recorded an awareness song on heatwave impacts and prevention mechanism to reduce the impact of extreme heat temperature. He highlighted to promote ground water conservation to reduce the water scarcity. He also stated to ensure plantation drive.
Ms.Sabita Behera, Ward 20 shared feedback in Janhit Vaani that she has been sensitizing community members through door to door visit and raising awareness to drink plenty of water, be hydrated, avoid to go outside during heatwave, use umbrella, wet clothes to prevent extreme heat temperature.
Ms.Subhadra Das, Sanitation Sub-committee member, Banafula Basti of Ward 42 highlighted that i have listened through Janhit Vaani that from April 22 to 26, 2025, extreme heatwave will occur in Odisha. She shared that avoid to expose from sun, keep water, umbrella, sunglass and wet clot, take care care of children, elderly, disabilities.

The Indian Metrological Department issued an early warning update on severe thunderstorms with hail with lightening amd gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph and moderate to heavy rainfall with hail is very likely to occur at isolated places over Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj in next 3 hours.
