I am George Marx from TLRF. Dr. Ambedkar's birthday wished to all. He is the one who fought for unemployment, economy, low wages, untouchability. He was a educationalist, economist, Philosopher, philologist, politician. He worked hard labour's rights, Irrigation, electricity, dalit people. He is the father of constitution. In this present era where people are becoming self made God, he told his people not to make him God, rather to use him as weapon. Amartya Sen winner of 1998 Nobel prize said Dr. Ambedkar is his role model. He lived his life for scheduled caste people. He realised that more than castism, economic cruelty is worst. So he opened ways for economic revolution. His thesis "The problem of the Rupee: Its origin and solution" in 1923 examines the causes for the Rupee's fall in value. The Reserve Bank of India was formed based on the ideas that Ambedkar presented to the Hilton Young Commission. he found legal solution for illegal land mobilization from farmers. Ambedkar as member of the Governor General's Executive Council, 1942–46 and worked on 8 hours of work, minimum wage system, work safety, paid holiday etc. Dr. Ambedkar not only worked for Dalit, he worked for everyone.
Person 1: How your livelihood due to corona? P2: I am struggling alot. I dont have any money for daily expenses. P1: What about Rs. 1000 given by Govt? P2: Its not sufficient for 2 days expenses too. Natraj Interviewing Muthusamy - He is from Kallupatti village. Lock down is good. But he is a construction worker and get Rs. 600 per day. He has 3 kids. He can manage only if he gets Rs. 600 daily. But by being at home he cant do anything. He is yet to get Rs. 1000 from Govt. He has got the slip, he will get only by Tuesday. without money he is struggling. He says it will be great he Govt give Rs. 3000. Prices of vegetables have increased. He says lockdown is good but they need necessary support. ,
Mariammal Interviewing Geetharani - She is a from Kottaya village. They are at home and they cant go home and they are not getting anything other than milk. Govt is giving Rs. 1000 and some provisions which are not sufficient.
Mariammal Interview With Arun - He is from Ottanchathiram. He thinks people should follow section 144 seriously. No one is his area is following it. There are 5 people positive for corona.
I am Muneeswari from Semmalar union. Due to corona virus Govt has imposed section 144 and all of us are at home. We daily wagers can manage only if we go to work on daily basis. In this situation all of us are at home last 1 week. After spending for EMI, weekly interest payment, group loan payment we have some how managed this 1 week. Now the question mark is what are we going to do for the rest of the days. Govt said it will give Rs. 1000 but that wont be sufficient. What about those who dont have ration card. What about those who have 6 people in a house? sometimes there will be 2 families with one ration card. What about them? During pongal Govt give Rs.1000 and asks to celebrate Pongal. But now in times of difficulty the Govt is giving same Rs. 1000 and asking to lead the life This shows the negligence of the Govt. Though section 144 is good to control corona, but since it has been announced suddenly livelihood of people is affected.
Sudha Interviewing Jaikumar. He works in Hotel. He gets salary of Rs. 8000. Almost 52 people are working along with him. They are 4 people in his family and he says due to leave he wont be able to manage with Rs.1000. He feels he can manage is minimum of Rs.5000 is given. Rs.1000 will be over in 1 day.
Nagarathianam Interview With Nandhini. She has come from Tirupur. Ahe works in Baniyan (Vests) company. Due to corona company is closed. There monthly expenses in Tirupur is Rs. 5000 to 6000 but after coming here she is struggling. She says Rs. 1000 announced by Govt is not sufficient. She requests everyone to follow lockdown and maintain social distancing. There are almost 200 migrant workers work in their company. They are at Tirupur. They are staying in Hostel. If they are coming out people are closing their shops thinking they might be affected with corona since they have visited their native.
Interview with construction worker Valarmathi from Puthuputtur. She treats section 144 in 2 ways. Its good in a way to safeguard people from getting infected. In a negative perspective people are locked at home and cant go anywhere. There financial situation is getting affected. Govt said they will give Rs. 1000 but we didnt receive it yet. we are 7 people at home. Even if we reduce our expenses we need Rs. 200 per day. For 30 days we need Rs. 6000. Govt Rs. 1000 is not sufficient. I request Govt to give Rs. 6000 to meet our expenses.
