Dear Listeners Din Dayal Antodaya Yojana is one of the most popular schemes for the poor living in urban areas. This scheme was launched under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA). The main goal of the scheme is to reduce poverty rates in the city, by creating employment opportunities through self-employment and skills development, providing the needy street vendors with the necessary social security, loan facilities, market facilities and suitable business space, as well as providing housing to the homeless urban poor. The following are some of the benefits of Din Dayal Antodaya Yojana: 1. Women living in urban areas can form a self-help group of 10 members on their own to become self-sufficient, with 70 percent of the members need ration card in that city and all members need a residence proof in that city. Along with this an Aadhaar card is also required. The scheme provides a revolving fund of Rs 10,000 to this self-help group for small businesses. If a federation is formed by taking above 10 self-help groups and registered, there is also a provision of Rs 50,000 revolving fund for the federation. 2. Anyone living in the city and holding a ration card with a residence permit can apply for a personal loan of up to Rs. 200,000/- from any bank through this scheme. The loan form is being provided by the Urban Livelihood Mission Department. In this loan scheme some interest will be reduced by Urban Livelihood Mission as subsidy 3. If any self-help group wants to do business or want to start an enterprise of their own group, they can apply for the group loan scheme through the application form obtained from the Urban Livelihood Mission authorities and can apply for the loan of up to Rs. 10,00000/-. The rate of interest will be reduced by Urban Livelihood Missions. Even if some of the members of the self-help group want to take loan to do such type of enterprise or business, they can also take loan in the name of a new unit. 4.
