We have a problem with the water and toilet facility.
Pramila Mahapatra a single woman from ward no 5 shared that there is no electricity supplied in the house, and the water also enters the household during heavy rainfall.
Namita Sahoo, residing in Sriram Nagar Ward no. 5, shared through IVRS that due to living in a low-lying area, the newly constructed road and the uphill sewerage caused rainwater to enter their house during rainfall. After enduring water logging for 4 years, they decided to build a concrete sump to divert the rainwater. This local adaptation has successfully prevented waterlogging so far. Since the uphill sewerage cannot be connected to the house, they have constructed 3 pits to store wastewater, rainwater, and toilet waste.
Sonali Sahoo from Palasuni Munda Sahi Ward 5 reported through IVRS that the community members of Palasuni Munda Sahi live near a canal which poses a high risk. The canal has not been cleaned for 4 years, increasing the chance of spreading dengue during the monsoon season. Urgent attention is needed to clean the canal. We request assistance from the BMC to arrange a meeting and write a resolution to address this issue. We are reaching out to CFAR through IVRS to seek their help in resolving this matter.
Water was not coming properly it will come after 5 to 6 days of interval, drain was not cleaned.
We have a hand pump as an alternative water source to use in extreme weather conditions and in some emergencies, which was under the use of 45 HHs.
