Mr. Swagat Jhankar Mallick, Project Assistant from Aaina, delivered a crucial awareness message on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Drawing upon his decade-long dedication and deep experience advocating for the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities, he emphasized the transformative power of inclusion."Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress", On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a world where every person, regardless of ability, can participate fully, with freedom and dignity. Inclusion is not charity, it is justice. When we remove barriers in education, employment, health, public spaces, communication, and social attitudes, we do not just uplift individuals with disabilities, we strengthen our communities. Here's to a society where diversity is valued, equal opportunity is real, and everyone have the chance to contribute, lead, and thrive.

Sangita Patra, Barsa Rani Pradhan, and Bebina Pradhan, representatives of persons with disabilities from Wards 23, 50, and 66, joined hands to disseminate a message on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. They emphasised that "even though we are differently-abled, we are capable, we are able to work with people, serve them, and educate the children in our neighbourhood. We consider ourselves completely capable. Differently abled individuals are performing their personal tasks themselves; they are universally competent. "We don't need charity, we need opportunity! On the path of progress, we do not want to walk behind anyone, but as equals companions. An inclusive society for persons with disabilities is our true empowerment." "Accessibility should not be seen only in ramps, but in every policy and rule. A society where everyone can participate equally is truly beautiful and progressive." "Let discrimination in the workplace end. We do not just want quotas, but rather want to work like ordinary people based on our competence. Our work should not be measured by our physical condition. "Integrated education for children with disabilities should not remain a dream, but be transformed into reality. Along with education, if we get respectable employment, we can become an asset to society instead of a burden."

On the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Khusi Behera, Rashmita Sethi, and Tadekeswar Sahoo, persons with disabilities from Ward 50 highlighted that "No developmental plan can succeed without our partnership. Our voice must be heard in every decision that affects our lives. Leave no one behind!". "Recognize our abilities, not our disabilities. Give us the right platform to bring about social progress by utilizing our talents." "Give us opportunity, not charity! On the path of progress, we do not wish to follow anyone, but to walk as partners. A disability-inclusive society is our true empowerment."
