Meera Parida - Namaskar I am Meera Parida Mostly our Transgender community has been critically affected by the pandemic majorly because of serious disruption of livelihoods. Looking at the situation and condition of the transgender community, The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment of the central government has announced a one-time subsistence allowance of Rs 1500 for each of our transgender sisters to help meet our basic requirement during the Covid-19 pandemic. Any transgender person or CBOs on behalf of the transgender person can apply for financial assistance after providing basic details, Aadhaar, and bank account number in a form available on the website of the National Institute of Social Defence.
