This IVR is really interesting and attractive. Because of this diversity when showed interest in listening to this IVR and it shows that the IVR will surely grow. Dindugal: To reduce road accidents, police introduces taking affirmations of the parents from school going children. On behalf of Dindigul traffic police, road safety awareness was conducted in Valanar Girls Matriculation school. Road safety affirmations were taken by the participant. And students were given printed affirmations to get it signed by the parents. Few affirmations were: I will wear helmet while driving, I will not drink and drive etc. Police officers said that they are going to impliment this system in dindugal district and they also believe that this will reduce the rate of accident. Alapuzha: Two policemen among five arrested in Alappuzha for allegedly raping 16-year-old girl. KG Lyju, a sub-inspector on probation at Mararikulam police station in Alappuzha district, and civil police officer Nelson Thomas were among those held for allegedly raping the girl. Police said she was a frequent visitor to the victim’s house and exploited the poor economic condition of her family. They said the girl’s father is disabled and mother is mentally ill. The girl’s relative used to take the victim, a school drop-out, during her trips to various places after gaining the confidence of her parents. She presented the minor to several men and accepted money in return. The incident came to light after the girl’s neighbours overheard her arguing with the woman and alerted the police. The girl refused to open up but later she told a woman police officer that she was being sexually assaulted for the last nine months. New Delhi: Including 7 girls total 18 courageous kids will be felicitated with the National Bravery Awards. One of the other bravehearts is the 14-year-old Netravati M Chavan from Karnataka, who lost her life while trying to save two young boys from drowning. Nattham: 14 injured in Jallikattu event. The event started at 9 am. A total of 300 bulls and 250 tamers participated in the event. Prizes ranging from stainless steel vessels, gold coins, bicycles, cots and steel almairahs were given to bull owners and tamers. Around 200 police personnel were deployed at the village. Kodaikanal: Pongal festival organized by the Department of Tourism in Kodaikanal. Uma Maheswari officer of Tamil tourism addressed the event. The event was organised in Thandikudi balamurugan ground.
