We filed the case and went to station. Workers started saying that they wasted their life for Unitex. They come by cycle. They have worked for 20 years and started crying. From last 1-1.5 years the company didnt give PF. We went to PF office and checked and came to know that they didnt pay 33 lakh. We complained and company was sealed saying the company will be opened only if they pay 33lakhs. Every night the company was shifting the machine to Chevvapet. 2 nights we stayed there because they were shifting machine. From November to April daily morning we took sign from workers and fought for them. Case was for 20 times we went every time and took 5 workers every time. Then the owner was arrested. We protested near company, Theynampet office, Chevvapet company, workers cooperated with us. 4 months we didnt leave them. Everyone supported each other. April month case was over. After so much of struggle the owner accepted to give salary without working and workers were given the settlement upto 1.5 lakhs. It was a great victory for us. We cant forget our victory. Same way SLAM company issue was handled. Even now the workers remember it. Yesterday Devaki from Mogappair told about this.
