I am Sumathi from PTS. GAFWU has filed a case against Newtex international company in Chevvapet for not giving pending money from 2015 April to March 2016 as per minimum wage 1948, shutting down the company without notice period or prior information and settling arrear, bonus, gratuity. On Otcober 2016 case has been filed in Labour officer. After many hearings, it was re-appealed in DCL during August 2017. Asst. Labour officer has given order to settle 91 workers the amount of Rs.32,39,256 as minimum wage and 3 times fine i.e Rs.97,17,768. The order was given on March 2019. Within 30 days of the order the workers should be settled and settlement report should be submitted. GAFWU is working on making sure that the workers are getting the money.
