I am Vimala from Mogappair. Insisting on the demands of Domestic helpers, human chain protest was organised. 10-20 people from our area attended the protest. Our demands were, minimum of Rs.80 for one hour work, 1 day weekly off, holidays during festivals, ESI for domestic helpers. This protest was taken place under the leadership of Sujatha mam and Santhanamari madam. Everyone participated in the protest. Mam told us to get salary in cheques if possible. With that we can try to get ESI facility. We all should work towards it actively. Taking part in this protest was a new experience for everyone. She insisted on getting salary in cheque. It will be great if we could get it like that. We request Govt to consider our request. Thanks to our mam.
