Daughter has finished her B.com and son has finished his engineering. My husband was working as a watchman. He was earning Rs.9000. K: What was your sate of mind while going to Koodapakkam from Maduravoil. S: I was restless and didnt knew what to do. We were used to this place. After going there, till one month we struggled now things are settled to some extent. But if we have to go for work, we have to pay so much for Bus fare. Many are not able to work due to physical strain and pain. They have run from here and stand to work there. That is the main problem now. People who are more than 40 years are not getting work, Only people with 30-35 years are getting jobs. There are no flats for domestic help. We have to cross Poonnmallee to get domestic helper job. What can we do tell me? 3 months I dint go for work, due to my health issue and leg pain. K: Are you coming to Maduravoil for domestic helper work? S: I am coming to Madurvoil as well i am doing in Ponnamallee. But they are hesitant to appoint and asking will you be able to come at this time. Dont know what to do. K: Hope you have seen the demand letter we drafted during election season. We have asked for a free bus pass for domestic helper. Have you seen that? S: I am not aware. But it will be really great if it happens. If we have Rs.3000 salary, we are spending Rs.1000 for bus fare. How can we survive. If you could give free bus pass, it will be helpful
