Interviewer: Hello sis. From how many years you are working as domestic helper? Domestic worker: I am working from past 30 years. I: What is your salary? DW: My salary starts from Rs.800. I: Ok. In how many houses do you work? DW: I work in 5 houses. I: Give some more details about it. DW: I get Rs.7000 in 5 houses. I: No no, please tell us the details on what time do you enter the house and come out of the particular house? How many days of holiday do you have? What is rhe amount you get for each work? DW: I start at 4 O clock from here and reach here by 6 O clock. And till 11- 12 O Clock my work goes on. I wash vessels, dry cloths, fold clothes and all other works. I: Morning, when you start from work, do you finish all your work and go? DW: I wont finish all work at home before leaving but finish few works and go. I: DO you finish those works after coming back from work in the evening? DW: No I wont do it. I: In Urimaikural we spoke that everyone should ask for bonus and get it. Did you ask for it? DW: I asked. In few houses they gave and in few houses they bought saree and gave. I: What are you planning to do for the houses which didnt give the bonus? DW: They said they will give after coming back from holidays. If they give, i will continue to work there. If not I will stop going there for work. I: Through our union we are planning to put c ard for domestic workers, do you any kind of help from us? DW: Yes. Please give me. If you give me that card, i will show it them and get the money. I: You said you start at 4am and reach by 6 am. SO do you have to travel for 2 hours. DW: Yes i have to travel for 2 hours. SOmetimes it takes more than 2 hours. I: Where do you live and where do you go for work? DW: I live in Kanniyammanagar and i go to Anna nagar for work. I: Thank you
