Hello this is Karpagam from Perumbakkam. I work as domestic helper. For domestic helpers there is no ESI or PF facility. Even if there is no PF facility its okay but it will be good if we get ESI facility. If we are not feeling well and not going for work for 10 days we will lose 10 days salary and we need to spend money if we go to private hospitals. If we go to govt hospitals the process itself takes loads of time. If we get ESI benefit, we get leave and good hospital facility. I feel bad that only garment workers are getting ESI benefit but domestic helpers are not getting it. SIlvanus: It is very honest request. What we can suggest is, approach GAFWU union and follow their instructions. They can help you in this.
